2021 ongoing (2019) – Project Participation in International Organisation for Standardisation (SC 42 – WG3 Trustworthiness)

Project Participation in International Organisation for Standardisation: ISO/IEC/JC42/WG3/TR24368 – Information Technology – Artificial Intelligence – Overview of ethical and societal concerns. Fredrik Dieterle and Viveka Bonde are currently participating in work undertaken in SC42 Workgroup 3 (AI & trustworthiness).

2021 – Chairman of technical committee (TK611) Swedish Institute for Standardisation

Viveka Bonde of LightNet Foundation is chairing the Technical Committee TK611, of the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS / TK 611). The technical committee SIS/TK 611 covers several areas:

– Information technology,
– Automatic data capture (AIDC),
– Artificial Intelligence (AI),
– Data management (incl. Big Data),
– Cloud services (Cloud),
– Architecture,
– Software development, and
– Management systems for IT services.

All areas of expertise covered in the Technical committee have their clear boundaries but they are also interrelated, since experts with knowledge covering these distinct areas work together in the committee.

2020 December 8 “AI Global Dimension – Governance Challenges”, arranged by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) in Russia

LightNet Foundation participated the International Conference about “AI Global Dimension – Governance Challenges”, arranged by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) in Russia, on the 8th December 2020.

Some of the key issues were different ways for effective enhancement of international cooperation, initiatives in regulation & soft law instruments as well as AI in connection with data cross-border transfer and data value.

As a speaker, LightNet Foundation spoke about about its work as the Project Editor for a draft Technical Report in ISO/IEC (SC 42) – Artificial Intelligence: Overview of ethical and societal concerns – emphasizing the importance to work with AI and Ethics in international collaborations and throughout the whole AI Value Chain, i.e. from the data sourcing stage and down to the deployment stage.

European Council – 2019 EuroDIG

LightNet Foundation participated in the yearly EuroDIG (European Dialogue on Internet Governance), this year hosted by the Netherlands in the Hague.

LightNet Foundation (through Viveka Bonde) was co-moderating the Plenary Session 3 of the conference, about ’Emerging Technologies and Human Rights’. Please see below.

På senare tid har det kommit rapporter om att AI-baserad mjukvara riskerar att avsevärt förstärka befintliga fördomar. Och vad händer med vår personliga integritet, vem äger rätten att tolka mina personliga data? Följ med på en diskussion om vilka krav som jobbsökare och företag borde ställa på morgondagens rekryteringsverktyg! Hur säkerställer vi etiken och hållbarheten i framtidens jobbmatchning?​ Tema: Work. Det här samtalet anordnas inom ramarna för konceptet Campus – en arena för tvärsektoriella samtal, där stuprör korsas och nya lösningar och problem identifieras.
